Banks. Yes, they have been an institution for yrs and yrs and have been THE place where most of us have handled just about all of our financial transactions for most of our lives. Lately, though, the process of going to banks for certain reasons has become more and more of a nuisance rather than a convenience. Let’s take car loans for instance.

In past days, if you wanted to purchase a car, you would need to get a loan from a local bank. Usually, this was the bank you had your checking account with and where you did most of your banking transactions. The process was often slow, full of paperwork, and it might even take days in order to get an answer. If you did not get the answer you hoped for, the process would have to begin all over again at another bank.

Eventually, car dealerships began doing loans in house. They would develop relationships with banks and when you came in to purchase a car, they could do the financing on the spot. The problem with this is, the car dealership is then acting on ALL sides of the transaction. They make money on the car, make money on the loan, and you have to basically trust that they are giving you the best deal possible. This, unfortunately, is not always the case. Enter the internet.
